Why do people act like shaving is hard?

Before today, i hadn't shaved either my face nor pubic area and I'm a 15.5 year old who has a lil bit of facial hair and had a shitload of nut hair. I felt like I should finally get around to cleaning it all up, as it was getting...messy. First, I took an OLD razor, similar to this one, a href="http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=CC060" rel="nofollow"http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_…/a , (had to be at least 10 years old and didn't pivot and had only one blade) that my dad had never gotten around to throwing away and NEVER used, changed the blade, and started shaving away my mexi-stash and few chin hairs. I didn't use shaving cream as he was out and I'm a very impulsive person and still I got a very mild razor burn and a TINY nick on my face. Then I took it to my nuts. I had alot of hair and I didn't want to take forever so I shaved it in maybe 5 minutes by hurrying, still no shaving cream. Got like 5 TINY cuts and nothing else! WTF! It's been like 4 minutes and the MINOR pain is already gone. Why do t.v. shows make it seem like shaving is so hard!?
