Pulled hamstring 3 weeks ago?

at dancing, and at first it hurt and now its a little better. i wish i could just rest it for a few weeks, but i can't because my recital is in a week, and plus my teachers are pretty crazy if someone misses. so please don't be like "you need to rest it"! but i am really careful not to hurt it. i ice it a lot, and heat it before i go to dancing, and ice it after. i was wondering if there were any exercises that would help it? and should i go to a doctor? my mom think all he would do was say to rest it, but i was thinking maybe he could help a lot.......
