Nightmares, night terrors... whats the difference?

I've looked online and every place I've found says night terrors are "scary or intimidating dreams" and nightmares are "frightening or menacing dreams" they sound like the same thing... So what's the difference between nightmares and night terrors? Any other details you may have are appreciated. Thanks!
