Imagery of The Giver by Lois Lowry?

ive read the book and skimmed through it twice but cant find any examples where Jonas "smelled" something. ive got examples for every other imagery but not that one. if you could tell me where in the story Jonas experienced "smell" or (better yet) could give me a page number that would be really great!
