Has anyone had a negative experience with Vitex?

My husband and I have been TTC #1 since June of this year. I stopped bc pills in April. I have never had irregular cycles. I suspected that maybe I had a leutal phase defect after a few months of trying with no result. We would never bd the week before my period because I figured I had already ovulated. So after my period in July we tried OPKs. What I thought was confirmed, I was ovulating the one week were we were not bding. Anyhow, in August my period was four days late. We got really excited but I never had a postive HPT. I was also taking an antibiotic for a UTI. The day I stopped the antibiotic, my period started. It was extremely painful and localized to my right side. I was concvinced I had an eptopic pregnancy and went to the ER. They confirmed that I was definately not pregnant and said that it was probably a cyst that had burst on my ovary ( I am 22 and had never had a cyst before). My usual cycles are 28-29 days long. My SIL suggested that I take vitex in order to lengthen my leutal phase. I started the vitex on September 6 (LMP was on August 24th.). Then I started my period a day early. That peroid was very painful and I ped a lot of clots. I ped more clots than blood in that cycle. I had been taking the liquid form of vitex. The next month I used the capsul form of vitex. I thought for sure that we were finally pregnant last cycle. I had been charting my BBT temps for a few months at the time and my temps were above the cover line for 18 days. My period was four days late. I was tired all the time, dizzy, VERY bloated, frequent urinating. All the tests I took came up negative. When my period did start, it was very painful again. The pain was on my right side (where my ovary is) and in my lower back on the right side. This time, I saw a blood clot with tissue maybe once this cycle. I am pretty sure it was a corpus leutem cyst. I decided to stop the vitex this month. I am afraid I have ovulated later this time around, but I decided to track my cervical fluid and position this cycle. Anyway, I know this long and TMI but my question is, has anyone had a negative experience with vitex?
