Does any one have any info on Focalin XR ....and how long it's been on the market. Please Help.?

My son is having a VERY rough time with ADHD and different medications and I am leary to start something new. Any info on this drug...the good and the bad will be greatly appreciated. Also curious to how long the Drug has been approved and out on the market? Thank you to all that help and respond.
